SHOGUN OF LORIS
Mr. Gore began his training in 1984 when he was 19 years old under the guidance of Grand Master Gene Lewis, who is also his uncle. Mr. Gore is trained in the Japanese art of Zen Ketsugo and the Korean art of Tae Kwon Do. After assisting his uncle at the Karate World headquarters, in Mullins, SC for 2 years, Mr. Gore opened his own Karate World school in Loris, SC on Memorial Day in 1990. He opened his second school in Conway, SC in 1993, and also began teaching martial arts as his full-time profession. In 2001, Mr. Gore founded Superkicks of Conway, which he owned and operated until 2024. In December 2024 he sold Superkicks to one of his long-time students, Joe Spivey. That same year, Mr. Gore and his wife, Erica, founded Shogun of Loris and opened their doors January 2025. The Shogun is considered to be the name of the top samurai warrior in feudal Japan.
At Shogun of Loris, we offer classes starting at the age of 3 years old. We have a wide variety of programs to choose from including ITF Tae Kwon Do, American Tae Kwon Do, and Zen Ketsugo Karate. Check out our class schedule for more details.
TERRY GORE
Grand Master Terry Gore is currently a 9th degree Black Belt. Sport Karate Accomplishments: In 1992 he was NASKA Regional Champ, rated #2 internationally SKI, and SC Champion. In 1993 he was NBL Dixie Champion. In 1994 he was SC State Champion, NC State Champion, rated #1 Dixie Conference, inducted into the National Black Belt Hall of Fame Dixie Conference Competitor of the Year, and three 3rd place finishes at the NBL World Championships. 1995 he was rated #1 Nationally NBL in forms and rated #2 Nationally in weapons, and rated #1 Internationally by SKI in forms and weapons. 1996 he was rated #1 NBL Dixie Conference in forms, weapons, and musical forms. Rated #1 Dojo Organization in forms and weapons. 1997 he was the winner of 23 Grand Championship titles. In 1998 he was the winner of 26 Grand Championship titles including The Great Southeast Challenge. 2004 he was rated #1 in the world NBL forms and self defense. 2011-2020 he was a PPKF Circuit Promoter and National Blackbelt League Promoter and Carolina's Beast Martial Arts Championships Promoter. 2024 he was named History General of the United States Sports Karate Museum and inducted into the United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame.
